Currently available Clinical Trials for melanoma at the North Bay Melanoma Program as of November 2008:

For early stage 1-2 melanoma (skin deep)

“A phase II study of high resolution contrast-enhanced MRI of regional lymph nodes in patients with clinically localized invasive melanoma.”

This trial assesses the accuracy of MRI compared to results obtained at lymph node biopsy, and has been designed by North Bay Melanoma Program physicians Dr. Peter Brett and Dr. David Feinberg, and approved by the Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital Institutional Review Board. For stage 3-4 melanoma (advanced in lymph nodes or metastatic)

AGENDA TRIAL: This is a study of the chemotherapy drug dacarbazine with or without the investigational drug Genasense (provided by Genta) for patients with advanced melanoma and a low LDH blood test.

SYMMETRY TRIAL: This is a study of the chemotherapy drug paclitaxel with or without the investigational drug elesclomol (provided by Synta) for patients with advanced melanoma.
