Peter Brett, M.D.

Board Certified Medical Oncologist

 

Dr. Brett has been a full-time medical oncologist in Sonoma County since 1991. He is on the full-time active staff at both Healdsburg District Hospital and Palm Drive Hospital, and he has full admitting privileges at all hospitals in the county.

Dr. Brett did his cancer training fellowship at the National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health, in Bethesda, Maryland. There he performed research in melanoma immunology in the lab of Dr. Steven Rosenberg. Prior to his fellowship, he graduated from Stanford University Medical School, and completed a 3-year internal medicine residency at Stanford University Hospital.

Dr. Brett has been an oncologist with Redwood Regional Medical Group for the past 15 years, and has a full-service office in Sebastopol where he provides cancer treatment with his oncology team: nurses Meena Utarid and Michelle Heron, office managers Nancy Carroll and Jan Winkel, nurse practitioner Pat Grinnell, and medical assistant Kelly Vaughan. He has a consultative office in Healdsburg as well. Dr. Brett is the founder and director of the North Bay Melanoma Program, sponsored by Redwood Regional Medical Group, a consortium of Sonoma County physicians dedicated to the care and treatment of patients diagnosed with this serious form of skin cancer.
